African Institute for Strategic Research, Governance & Development (AISRGD) is an independent public policy research organization and a think tank based in Kampala, Uganda. AISRGD stated work in 2007 with different local development partners and officially registered as a non-profit making organization on 3rd August 2010 and is proving to be one of the most dynamic and vigorous strategic policy research and a think tank in a number of key areas that includes; Conflict transformation, Policy and Development, Energy, HIV & AIDs.

The Fragile African states, ethnic and religious friction and extremism, struggle for scarce available natural and manmade resources and the proliferation of small, light and heavy weapons of mass destruction all have caused significant challenges to sustainable peace and development. The resulting suffering and deterioration of societies make effective forms of managing conflict imperative. The African Institute for Strategic Research Governance and Development (AIRSGD) in collaboration with all stakeholders, is therefore, committed to meeting this very imperative challenge through producing balanced and quality research papers.

Through evidence-based strategic policy research and analysis, we generate knowledge to support national, regional and international development policies. Through advocacy, training and capacity building, we empower CSOs, NGOs, CBOs, individuals and communities to effectively contribute towards formulation of dynamic and balanced policies for equitable and sustainable development and rural social economic transformation. Through action research, we motivate people to demand for services from responsible government line ministries and political leaders at all levels, maintain integrity, and strive to achieve corrupt free society, transparency and accountability in leadership, promotion and protection of human rights, and justice for all where human dignity prevails for better governance.
